In January of 2005, I received an invitation from Dr. Wesley Magruder, mission director of United Methodism’s work in Cameroon, to help the young leaders of Cameroonian Methodism create their first hymnal/worship book. We called it the Cameroon Hymnal Initiative (CHI).
What you’ll find on this page are a series of reports and teaching aids I’ve prepared to tell the story of the CHI and some pictures from my travels in Cameroon. The relationships I formed there will last my whole life, and I’m grateful to the members of the hymnal team for all their hard work and dedication. When the book is published, we’ll put portions of it on this website.
There is more African travel ahead for me. I go to Côte d’Ivoire in August 2008 with a team of people from all over the United States. When I return from that trip, I’ll have more stories and pictures to share on this page.
