In this church we call our home
Suggested tune: HERE I AM, LORD
In this church we call our home,
in this room of wood and stone,
we have gathered through the years to sing God’s praise.
Countless hymns have filled the air,
sighs of grief and words of prayer.
Do you have a word for us,
O Lord, our God?
Refrain:
“O my people, I am knocking,
I am standing at your church’s door.
if you hear me, I will enter,
we will feast in joy forevermore.”
In this city, on this street,
in this building where we meet,
we have learned the word of God, the truth divine.
Now we seek to live it out,
spreading hope, removing doubt.
Do you have a word for us,
O Lord, our God?
Refrain:
In a world so full of need,
petrified by hate and greed,
we are called to sacrifice, to serve in love.
We can barely comprehend
how the world will ever mend.
Do you have a word for us,
O Lord, our God?
Refrain:
