Jesus, Promise of an Angel
[Can be sung to Amanda Husberg’s tune JENNINGS-HOUSTON which was written for my text, “God the Sculptor of the Mountains”]
Jesus, promise of an angel,
Jesus, tiny refugee,
Jesus, student in the Temple,
Jesus, bound for Galilee.
Refrain:
Every Jesus come and claim me.
Make me your disciple now.
Jesus, washed in Jordan’s waters,
Jesus, touched by dove’s descent,
Jesus, driven to the desert,
Jesus, called to shout, “Repent!”
Refrain:
Jesus, teacher on the mountain,
Jesus, waker of the dead,
Jesus, healer on the Sabbath,
Jesus, heaven’s finest bread.
Refrain:
Jesus, tortured and rejected,
Jesus, hung upon a tree,
Jesus, bound in stony silence,
Jesus, now alive and free.
Refrain:
