What Can We Say But “Glory Be!”
When someone who, surprised by grace,
and held in God’s divine embrace
decides to answer, “Lord, send me”,
what can we say but “Glory be!”
When someone seeks to be employed
in places most of us avoid
and models justice gracefully,
what can we say but “Glory be!”
When someone, driven to unite
the rivals who would rather fight,
insists on truth and honesty,
what can we say but “Glory be!”
When someone faces pain and death
yet praises God with every breath
it primes our hope; it sets us free
to sing our joyful “Glory be!”
